Leadership

Many of our beliefs were established from our late elder Voy Wilks, searching the appointed times, knowing the Creator’s name and the Messiah’s name, covenant theology, Yahweh being one, and more.  Throughout his ministry, from the 70s through the early 2000s, he wrote hundreds of articles. This founding father and trailblazer of AOY passed away in 2010.

Elder Farris is the pastor of our Assembly.  He has taken the reins from his father Voy Wilks, and led us from the small beginnings of a little assembly to what we have today. Pastor Farris Wilks welcomes you and hopes you can spend the Sabbath with us while we enjoy worship, Biblical teaching, and plenty of food and fellowship.

Kyle Wilks is the son of Farris and Jo Ann Wilks.  He has been an elder to this assembly since 2021.  Having been raised in the Torah-based faith and being one of the oldest sons of Farris and Jo Ann, he has become a great leader and representative of this Assembly.

Josh is the son of Farris and Jo Ann Wilks. Raised in the faith, Josh has been a steadfast leader and contributes to the Assembly and Body of Messiah in many ways. He and his wife, Jolene, have three children. 

Wendall has joyfully served at the Assembly in many capacities, from playing on the worship team, to supervising construction projects. He has proven himself as an effective leader. He is married to Anna Clawson, together they have been blessed with many children and grandchildren.

Jose Ireta joined the AOY staff in 2021 as the Interim Youth Pastor after retiring from a career in education. Since then, his role transitioned to that of Administrator in 2022. He provides leadership and oversight to most ministries. Jose was appointed as an elder in 2023. He is married to Yanina who also serves in various capacities.

Darren and Josh are the assembly’s maintenance team, they are a huge part of why this assembly looks and feels new.  If you ever come to visit, including on a Feast, please don’t hesitate to ask these two for help or to answer any questions you have.

Aiden has served on the AOY Worship Team since 2017, and joined the staff in 2022 as Director of Sound and Media. As of 2023, he has additionally taken on the role of Youth Pastor. Aiden is married to Lace, who helps with AOY Youth and serves in other capacities as needed.
